Okay so I just got around to watching the new Hobbit trailer.  I know, late to the party but TBH I’m not super excited because for some reason even though I was outright obsessed with LOTR in high school these movies haven’t held my interest as much for some reason and also I’m super bitter that they changed the name why the fuck would you NOT call it There and Back Again ugh.

Anyway so I finally watched it and FIRST OF ALL HOW DARE YOU.  YOU USED THAT SONG JUST TO MAKE ME CRY

I think I might be the only person on earth who liked Divergent more than The Hunger Games.

as the person who recommended both to you i kind of resent this because i also liked divergent better?

i mean they’re both really, really good and make you think - thg is more about the society while divergent is about finding your place as a person. if people think they’re ripoffs they’ve clearly never read them.

I think I’m just really frustrated because the only time I hear someone talking about Divergent (especially since the movie came out) they’re calling it stupid and comparing Tris to Katniss and just get REALLY MAD because I thought THG was okay and Divergent was amazing.  For one thing I thought Mockingjay was mostly boring as hell but Allegiant was fantastic and so exciting and aaah.

I mean I LIKED THG trilogy because even though the first book was super depressing I really liked Catching Fire a lot but with Divergent I was hooked from the beginning and didn’t stop loving it. (It only took me so long to read the last one because I was so worried about who was gonna die and also I didn’t WANT to finish the series because then it’d be over.)

I just REALLY LOVE TRIS and she might be one of my favorite characters ever.

“And Harry, with the unerring skill of the Seeker, caught the wand in his free hand as Voldemort fell backward, arms splayed, the slit pupils of the scarlet eyes rolling upward. Tom Riddle hit the floor with a mundane finality, his body feeble and shrunken, the white hands empty, the snakelike face vacant and unknowing. Voldemort was dead.”

You see, this is how it should have been. I wish that this wasn’t just a behind-the-scene photo. I wish that it had happened like this. Exactly like in the book. Voldemort died like anyone else. And it’s amazing how in the book, J.K. Rowling actually used his name. He was humanized in death. And I wish that they had shown that, instead of showing him do an imitation of the Corpse Bride:

Because it’s really important:
Tom Riddle was humanized in death.

That was just too silly not to be drawn.
The disturbing thing about this is that I’m pretty sure Thranduil would actually be able to slay the beast just with his rolled magazine.

If you had to make me choose between Young!Hiccup or Older!Hiccup, I don’t think I could. He’s still his adorkable self whether he’s 15 or 20.

I love how his impersonating his dad game only improved over the years.

I think that’s more because he was bitter and angry in the first gifset, but in the second he’s just messing around. Hiccup’s body language is very expressive that way. XDDD

Because I’m tired of the “Steve sucks at modern technology” trope.  He was picking up and using HYDRA tech that was powered by the tesseract in WWII. And user interfaces were pretty un-intuitive back then — knobs labeled in German or French, most likely.  And think about the number of dials and thingamabobs on an airplane control panel!  Yes, he’s a man out of time, but it’s probably the social stuff that’s much harder to adjust to.  (You can tell he’s recently-thawed because he still insists on wearing at least a button-down shirt and suspenders when out in public.)

THIS IS AMAZING!!!!
